November 28, 2011 - Performance Systems Development Lends Expertise for Proposed Energy Efficiency Tax Credit
Performance Systems Development (PSD) an Ithaca, NY and Pennsylvania-based building performance software and services provider, played a key role in shaping newly proposed federal tax credit legislation. The new legislation would create the first residential performance-based tax credit for homeowners who make energy efficiency improvements. The Cut Energy Bills at Home Act (S. 1914) was introduced in the U.S. Senate on Friday, November 18, by Senator Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) and cosponsored by Senators Jeff Bingaman (D-New Mexico) and Dianne Feinstein (D-California).

November 11, 2010 - Greg Thomas Invited to White House for Launch of New Home Energy Pilot Program
Performance Systems Development CEO Greg Thomas was invited to the White House to join Vice President Biden and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Steven Chu for the launch of the Home Energy Score pilot program yesterday. Thomas is chair of Efficiency First, the national energy efficiency trade association. Performance Systems Development will support one of the pilot programs outlined in yesterday’s address.
October 6, 2010 - PSD Helps “Green” Armed Forces in Japan
Chris Balbach, Vice President for Research and Development at Performance Systems Development (PSD), is traveling to Japan to deliver energy efficiency training at Camp Foster, a U.S. Marine Corps base on the island of Okinawa. The United States Pacific Command, which oversees a territory that covers almost half the earth’s surface and which is the oldest and largest of the U.S. unified commands, requested the training. Armed forces personnel from neighboring facilities will also attend the 5-day session.
September 21, 2010 - Performance Systems Development to Support FirstEnergy’s Energy Efficient New Homes Program
Performance Systems Development (PSD), a building performance software and services provider based in Ithaca, New York, has been awarded a three-year contract to implement the Residential New Construction energy efficiency program for FirstEnergy’s (NYSE: FE) Pennsylvania utilities – Metropolitan Edison, Pennsylvania Electric and Pennsylvania Power.
This program will encourage builders and buyers of new homes to include energy efficiency as a design feature in residential construction.

August 9, 2010 - Greg Thomas to Chair New RESNET Working Group on Software Standards
Performance Systems Development’s Greg Thomas will chair a new RESNET Working Group on Comprehensive Retrofit Audit Software Standard. The group, composed of representatives from national laboratories and leading modeling software developers, was created to address an immediate need in the marketplace for residential retrofit software modeling tools that have both tested physics engines and interfaces that allow consistent and accurate modeling of a wide range of energy retrofits.
“The work of our group will allow RESNET to provide clear guidance to the market on how to develop software using strong physics engines that can consistently pass a strong retrofit calculation test,” says Thomas.
