TREAT, Targeted Residential Energy Analysis Tools, was designed by leading building performance professionals to support the business process of Home Performance Contractors. TREAT helps contractors integrate a whole house energy savings approach into their installations. TREAT supports highly accurate retrofit energy analysis, energy ratings, room-by-room load sizing and health & safety improvements. TREAT’s development was sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority for use in the New York State Home Performance with Energy Star Program. TREAT is approved by US DOE for use by the Weatherization Assistance Program and by RESNET as a rating tool.
TREATtracker, the Online Tracking Tool for Energy Retrofits, enables program managers to effectively communicate and manage contractors. TREATtracker receives uploads of energy retrofit information from the TREAT energy retrofit modeling tool and allows program managers to track performance on retrofits, review and approve workscopes and pay incentives. TREATtracker also provides a state-of-the-art channel for moving energy data from customers and utilities back to the contractor, cost effectively tracking building performance over time and reducing evaluation costs. TREATtracker brings Total Quality Management to tracking of energy savings and program evaluation.
Home Performance Contractor Training is provided by PSD's experienced trainers, using resources developed by PSD and field tested in innovative Home Performance programs, including Wisconsin, New York, New Hampshire and California. Comprehensive training materials contain a full student and teacher curriculum, over 1000 annotated power point slides, a CD packed with reference materials, an in-field proctoring form for observing performance tests, and a sample Home Performance report template. Online resources include www.buildingperformance.net where students can access over 400 indexed documents and communicate with over 500 registered contractors.
Curriculum Development and Train the Trainer services are provided to programs seeking to invest in the development of local training infrastructure. PSD's adult education specialists have created a comprehensive curriculum database using nationally recognized performance based training software developed by the Wisconsin Technical College Foundation. PSD can customize this database and related training materials to your program needs. The database produces curriculum documentation suitable for use in vocational and technical college settings. PSD will conduct training programs in conjunction with your local trainers who can then continue to offer the training locally using PSD’s training materials under license.
PSD's Sales and Business Development Training is designed to help contractors and not-for-profits develop the sales, marketing skills, and business systems to become a successful Home Performance contractor. PSD's business development training is an in-depth workshop that helps all the staff in a contractor's company to work together to define and document the systems necessary to support a Home Performance business model.
Marketing and Program Design Services help PSD's customers benefit from the experience that PSD has gained supporting Home Performance and other efficiency programs in New York, California, New Jersey, New Hampshire and Wisconsin. PSD has also authored and co-authored a range of funded research reports looking at issues surrounding certification, contractor training, market barriers, transition of existing programs and program design for Home Performance programs.
