Building Envelope Professional Training (BPI Certification) - Ithaca, NY

Cost: $1,000 + $125 BPI Written Exam Fee (added at checkout)

This course will give you a deeper understanding of the building envelope and its interaction with other building systems. The training offers hands-on measurement and verification of building performance, as well as standards and project specifications - with the goal of optimizing the building envelope for energy efficiency. BPI's Building Analyst 1 certification is a prerequisite for this course. Field testing is an additional cost and will be scheduled separately - please note in order comments if you would like to stay and take the field test on Friday.

Course Objectives:

• Understand the relationship between building envelope systems and the other systems of the building
• Learn techniques for improving efficiency and durability of the building envelope in existing buildings
• Become familiar with best practices for energy efficiency improvements including duct blasting, series leakage testing, infrared imaging, insulation installation, ventilation & CAZ testing
• Prepare for BPI Building Envelope Professional written and field testing to acquire certification
• Take the BPI written exam Thursday afternoon
