New York State Energy $mart Multifamily Performance Program (MPP)

Performance Systems helps building owners harness the latest in building science technology and apply it directly to their building's design and operation. Performance Systems’ analysis approach addresses the specific energy and operational needs of each unique building to help building owners improve the value of their buildings, while at the same time providing tenants with a comfortable and affordable living environment with reduced energy costs. This program builds PSD’s engineering talent and supports systems development such as tracking systems. PSD also trains other engineering companies on simulation best practices.

Software

TREAT

An industry leader in high-accuracy energy simulation for multifamily buildings, TREAT is designed to support the energy decision making process of both the contractor and the customer. TREAT’s feedback system makes it easy to create realistic energy models, based on actual building energy bills and actual weather. This simulation has been tested and compared to other software tools, such as DOE2 and EnergyPlus and is compliant with the most rigorous residential energy software performance standard, the HERS BESTEST and HVAC tests. TREAT won the prestigious 2005 R&D 100 Award for applied technology.

Building Performance Compass

is a benchmarking and tracking tool specifically designed for multifamily buildings and program management.
