PSA's Train-the-Trainer Program - Become a Trainer
The single largest hurdle to transforming the marketplace and the economy for “green jobs” is the lack of quality trainers. Classes are available nationwide, whether you are already BPI-certified or not. You’ll learn how to motivate and inspire the next generation of energy efficiency workers, while arming them with the knowledge they’ll need to reenergize our economy.
Step 1: Become a Building Science Expert
Take our BPI Building Analyst certification course.
This training is intended for anyone who would like to conduct diagnostic energy audits on existing housing stock, including measurement and verification services related to building analysis. The course is a carefully crafted balance of classroom presentations, field exercises, and self-study materials. Theory and practice are integrated with an emphasis on practical problem-solving – culminating in Building Analyst (BA1) certification through the Building Performance Institute. If you have already acquired Building Analyst certification, contact us to learn how you can progress to Step 2 more quickly.
Step 2: Become a Trainer
Take your knowledge one step further, and share it with others. Performance Systems Academy's 5-part Train-the-Trainer online course series will give you insight into how to deliver the BPI Building Analyst training to others in your community.
The Train-the-Trainer online courses will get you up to speed on the home performance business process, optimizing the classroom experience, optimizing the field experience, getting your technical questions answered, and making the transition from trainee to trainer.
Step 3: License Curriculum
Our BPI-approved curriculum, available for licensing, is designed to provide comprehensive building science and energy efficiency training.
